Pros and Cons
Every time I buy a light set, I feel like I am a bit sadomaso. It really exercises my patience at the highest level. But still, I like adding lights to my Lego Sets. And to me, the Christmas tree is a no brainer on that aspect. I did the large version.
Pros :
1-I like that the lights are flashing and that they are multicolors.
2-I like the star, the light there is very bright !
3-I like looking at the candles, imitating real fire, very subtle.
Cons:
1-The lights need to be put from top to bottom, for obvious reasons. But building a Lego Tree from top to bottom has its challenge. Again, for obvious reasons. Arm yourself with patience, and even make sure to have someone close by to help out, by holding pieces while you handle the wires.
2-The multicolor flashing light wires are not very long. I mean the part of it that have lights. There are two, so you might want to use one for top and the other one for bottom if you want some everywhere. Since you are turning the lights on at the end, I had to redo that bit again as only then I noticed that.
3-The last level of the tree, is very fragile when all the lego pieces are removed to add the lights. With only two hands, it was very difficult to hole the tree, turn the wires around the base and attach it. This is when I would've needed another pair of hands.
Voila ! Have fun :)
