The LEGO Welcome To Apocalypseburg (70840) is the largest set to be released from the hit animated motion picture, The LEGO Movie 2.
This gargantuan of a set comes in at an impressive 3,178 pieces and features a host of lovable characters like Emmet, Lucy, Batman and many more! This eclectic set is based on a post-apocalyptic environment, with a broken down Statue of Liberty - a homage to the Planet Of The Apes.

Our LEGO light up kit contains a massive 44 individual lights, all designed to bring out the best in your Welcome To Apocalypseburg set. Some of the stand out features include, flickering lights for the Statue of Liberty torch, as well as lights for the statue's crown and eyes, red and blue strip lighting for various rooms, and as well light effects for the fire pit and water pipes.
Being fans of the movie, our design team had a lot of fun putting together this custom lighting kit. We also wanted to make sure all the best features were enhanced with our LED lights. With our easy to install light kit, your Welcome to Apocalypseburg will become an eye-catching centrepiece amongst your LEGO collection.
We recommend lighting this kit by a USB Power Bank or USB Power Adaptor (to connect to a mains outlet), which is NOT included in this kit. If you do not have a USB Power Bank, you can purchase them from our Powering section.

It is a very sad that it is not available any more. Amazing kit and high quality. I had arranged it a bit different but anyhow it is great addition to the set. I have managed to purchased it from one collector brand new in box :)

This set does a great job utilizing the empty space in the middle of the set to hide all the wires. I love the lights in lady liberty’s eyes.

Okay, we all know that Welcome to Apocalypseburg! isn't cheap. Especially since it's (as of this review) a LEGO exclusive. But the set is stunning nonetheless. At least that's what I thought until I found out Light My Bricks has a light kit for it.
It is a bit expensive, but I weighed up the cost compared to other cheap Chinese sets like Vonado. And their version simply cannot compare. LMB went the extra mile and customised the eyes of the Statue of Liberty. I'm usually not big on altering official LEGO sets, but the way LMB lit up the statue's eyes is both tasteful and adds to the overall ambience of the set.
Like the other reviewer said, the set looks lacklustre without lights now! I'm frequently closing the curtains and turning off the room lights so I can activate this light kit and stare and marvel at the colours and effects.
If you have this LEGO set, do yourself a favour and grab this light kit!!! It's worth every penny.
Before this kit, I thought that the Ninjago City kit made the biggest difference in the enjoyment of a Lego set. The Hogwarts Castle kit makes it a showpiece, but the Ninjago City light kit brings out the packed out details of the set that should not be missed once the build is complete.
This light kit surpasses Ninjago City. Not only has the LMB team come up with a brilliant path to lighting up details, they have outdone themselves by adding to the details with their lights. Apocalypseburg is a crazy set to begin with so it deserved lighting to match. LMB answered the call.
The colored lights, flicker effects and flashing lights are all placed perfectly. Once you light up Liberty's head, you will never want to turn it off. I promise this set will become your go to centerpiece once you light it up. The set actually looks boring without the lights now - hard to believe.
If you are feeling a bot more creative, try adding once of LMB's rotating lights under a clear green cylinder and place it next to the chair on the third level. It will require you to change out the six port expansion board to an eight, but I promise you it is worth it!
